Tech Tip: Automotivator

I thought this was pretty neat to create.  I had never made one before and though this picture doesn't quite match with the script, it was still fun.  The picture was actually generated randomly from automotivator so I didn't have a choice in theirs.  I chose 'yolo' not from a specific place and the same for 'cheers to mistakes,' not at least from where I can remember.  When I saw the subtext, it resonated with me and adding 'yolo' just kind of fit, because you only live once so cheers to mistakes!

(YOLO: CHEERS TO MISTAKES.  Created with Automotivator.)

Tech Tip: Canvas Mobile App

So this may seem kind of late in the semester to discuss whether I've downloaded the Canvas App or not.  In all honesty, I have and I did so, I believe, in the beginning of last semester just in case I needed to revert back to it for some missing information.

I currently use it to check on future assignments and other assignments I've missed.  It's still quite confusing to me so I still have to play with it some, but it is nice to have and super convenient.  I guess a few things I could do without, is the confusion on the notifications.  I've learned how to add the right notifications that suit what I would like to receive, but even when I selected that, it didn't quite measure up to what I was expecting.  Looking through it on mobile can also be challenging, because even when you want to view certain assignments or grades, it can be confusing on how the layout is.  And because it is an app, it's just overall difficult to work with so it's just nice to work with the site on a laptop as usual rather than on the phone.

Others may think differently from me, but I'm not one to want to use my phone in that manner when it's such a small device.  Whether convenient or not, it doesn't always mean it's perfect.

Tech Tip: Blogger Template

I've always loved the idea of blogs.  I don't exactly write in a blog on a regular basis, but I do physically write in a journal whenever I can.  What can I say, I like the old fashioned way.  Because of that, I created my blog in a way that speaks to my personality.  I love cursive font and I even write in cursive and am itching to learn calligraphy one of these days, so it just suits me perfectly to have my blog in cursive.  If not in cursive, I usually enjoy the type-writer's font, another old school fetish.  As for color, although blue is my absolute favorite, for some reason, I've gravitated towards green these days and not just any green, but a deep forest green.  It was fun changing up my blog template, I plan to play with it some more and change it up even more whenever I get bored of this one.  My mind is always changing for something new!

Introduction to an Over-Thinking Dreamer

Hello to All..

The name is Avida Nola and I am a Senior Psychology major.  I already have my Associates in Psychology from Oklahoma City Community College as well as recently receiving my Medical Office Administration certificate in the Fall of 2016.  With that certification, I currently work at an Accident Care and Treatment Center in their Business Office department.  I plan to finish my complete Bachelor's Degree this Fall 2017...hopefully..

I am not quite sure where it will lead me once I am done, but this current position is a start to something.

I am a dreamer that gets lost in countless movies...I would say books, but movies are a fast-track version of books and I seem to carry enough time for those compared to reading.  Although I would love to get back into reading whenever my life allows me to.

My current obsession in films are the most recent ones: Passengers and La La Land.  Movies that make you think post-watch are definitely what intrigue me the most.  They may not be to others liking, but I sure do enjoy the sad, nostalgic kind of films.

Music speaks to my soul the way that movies do.  It's a wonder why I didn't mention it earlier.  It flows through my family, mainly my father who used to be in a band with his brothers and sister.  They are uber talented and they all practically learned instruments by ear, especially my dad.  The younger ones were lucky enough to learn it aside from doing so by ear.  I wish I was just as artsy as them, but one can dream.

Other than watching movies at home and going to the movies on my spare-time and listening to music, whenever the weather permits, I enjoy a mean rally of tennis.  I've played ever since I was nine years old, up until college and work prevented me from playing.

Aside from playing tennis as an activity, I also go to the gym whenever I have time after work or even before the break of dawn.  Because I enjoy exercising as much as I can, I am pretty interested in Nutrition, Health and Exercise.  Other than feeling and looking great, it is important to understand what the body is consuming and how it will affect you in the long run.

Traveling is also one that I have to add into my list of activities.  I crave for the adventure and experience of different cultures and societies.  I can even settle for just traveling within the states.  This country is so big, there is so much that it has to offer us.

Ending this note with a picture of one of the loves of my life.  Theodore Tubby at your service 😍.
